The Demir Kapija Gorge (Worth a Stop)
The A1 passes through the Demir Kapija gorge — a spectacular limestone canyon where the Vardar River cuts through sheer cliffs. There is a pull-off viewpoint on the right side heading south. Stop for 5 minutes: the view is genuinely impressive and one of the best on the Skopje–Thessaloniki drive.
The Greek Border: Gevgelija / Evzoni Crossing

Leave Skopje before 08:00 for the smoothest crossing. Return crossing (Greek side back to Macedonia) is typically faster than the outbound.
Greek Highway Tolls

The Waterfront (Paralia)

Aristotelous Square

Ano Poli (Upper City)
