About 175 km on the A1 motorway, roughly 2.5 hours. It is a straightforward highway drive through central North Macedonia — smooth tarmac, mild gradients, and plenty of stops for fuel and food.
Can I cross into Albania or Greece from Ohrid?

Is there parking in Ohrid old town?
The old town is largely pedestrian. Paid parking lots on the edges (e.g. Kaneo, Port Ohrid, or the main square) are the best option. Your hotel may also offer guest parking — ask in advance.
Can I drop the car off in Skopje instead?
Yes — you can collect in Ohrid and return in Skopje (or the reverse). One-way is available between our six service locations, with each location's fee charged per leg: Ohrid Airport or City Center €100, Skopje Airport €10, Skopje City Center free. So Ohrid → Skopje City Center adds €100 in location fees, and Ohrid → Skopje Airport €110. Drop-off outside these six locations is not possible.
Are there tolls between Skopje and Ohrid?
Yes. The A1 motorway has several short toll sections — expect to pay roughly 120–200 MKD (€2–3.50) each way, cash or card at toll booths.

One-way between our six service locations is possible — for example collect at Skopje Airport and return in Ohrid — with each location's fee charged per leg (Skopje Airport €10, Ohrid €100). If you plan to continue into Albania — Pogradec and the Albanian Riviera are within easy reach of Lake Ohrid — a Green Card insurance certificate is required by law and costs €50 per rental for Zone 1.
